Senior High Youth Group

The Senior High Youth Group is for members of Grace and the community who are in 9th through 12th grade. The group, which was started to provide post-confirmation youth with an opportunity to continue meeting for fun activities, service projects and worship, began in February 2011 and met several times throughout the year.

Led by adults Laura Slugg, Alyson Wentz, Tom Lewis and Ken Seiler, the group has gone on trips to Arnold's Family Fun Center and Pinball Parlor, held a game day at church, participated in a overnight campout and worship experience and had a swim party.

During the rest of 2011 and the first part of 2012 many of those in the Senior High Youth Group will be preparing to participate in the 2012 ELCA Youth Gathering in New Orleans - July 18-22, 2012. Grace's youth activities will focus on this preparation and a number of fundraising events over the next several months.

There will be nine youth from Grace participating in the 2012 Gathering, four who are veterans and five who are first-time attendees. Tom Lewis and Alyson Wentz will be the leaders for the Gathering. We are also partnering with Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Souderton to run cooperative planning meetings, draft our group covenant and travel together to and from New Orleans. Our combined group will be five adults and 19 youth.

Monthly pre-Gathering meetings will begin in January and will alternate between Grace and Emmanuel. We are in the process of putting together some possible dates and times for these meetings to distribute to the parents and youth.
